In 2015 BSPOKE replaced the Highways Department ageing Microsoft Access system with Job Costing, a modern desktop application that runs road construction and maintenance across the city.
BSPOKE built Job Costing for Leicester City Council Highways Department, a desktop application that handles every part of road construction and maintenance in the city, tracking the income and expenses for each job and making sure work is allocated and scheduled effectively across Leicester.
Before the new suite, the department relied on an old system built with Microsoft Access from 1997. It depended on third-party software, broke with each Access update, and needed constant workarounds and patches, making it cumbersome and costly to maintain.
Launched in 2015, BSPOKE delivered a modern, integrated software suite with Job Costing at its centre. It uses a contemporary Windows tiled layout with a full user-permission system, and connects to a shared central database alongside the other applications BSPOKE built for the department.
Replacing the legacy system resolved downtime, complex workarounds and high maintenance costs. Staff manage and track roadwork projects far more easily, manual tasks and errors are reduced, and reports can be generated on demand for better decision-making.
